The trip to Simi Valley will begin with lunch at the Elephant Bar and Restaurant. Guests will be able to choose a Cobb Salad; French Dip Sandwich or Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich but be sure to save room for dessert - a big slice of Elephant Mud Pie! The afternoon will be spent touring the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum where you can share his dream and learn how he led America toward it. The state of the art museum takes you from Reagan's early years to his time spent as a world leader. You'll quickly learn that the cupboards and cabinets of Presidential history contain more than official documents. There are also chess sets and tea sets; pillows and portraits. Received as gifts, these objects are tokens of respect and affection offered to the nation's Chief Executive. Today, a President may receive as many as 15,000 gifts a year. They come from every state in the nation and every country in the world. The Library features a rotating exhibit of some 75,000 gifts received by the Reagans during their White House years. Youth 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required. Limited space available.
