Beginning at the park's service road below the Oak Grove picnic area, the Historic Dam Trail provides a short but enjoyable walk to the dam. Recognized as State Historic Site #37, the submerged dam was constructed in 1892 to pond and divert Santiago Creek water for agriculture uses. The level trail borders the creek and a lush understory of native plants and vines. The trail isshaded by Sycamore and Willow trees.
