Town patriarch Ole Hanson provided the funds to build this fashionable beachclub and dedicated it to the community on May 27, 1928. At that time the sw imming pool was considered one of the finest in the nation, and it was the site of tryouts for the U.S. swimming team prior to the Xth Olympiad in Los Angeles in 1932. During the next 50 years club facilities became antiquated, but renovation for active use was completed in 1983.
